About Yacht.Loans
Yacht.Loans is an independent information site about financing a boat or yacht. It isn’t a lender or a loan broker, and it doesn’t make credit decisions. It exists for buyers who want to understand a boat loan, the tax and the paperwork before they make an offer, using numbers they can check.
How the research is done
We read primary sources and nothing else for facts. For lenders, that’s each lender’s own boat or marine loan page. For rules, it’s the eCFR (46 CFR Part 67 for Coast Guard documentation), the U.S. Code, the Coast Guard’s National Vessel Documentation Center, IRS Publication 936, and each state’s statute or tax agency. For trade practice, it’s the National Marine Lenders Association, SAMS, NAMS and ABYC in their own words.
Every figure is linked to where we found it and carries the date we read it. The current set was read on October 24, 2026. Where a page didn’t state something, we say it isn’t published rather than fill the gap from memory or from a third-party summary. Where a figure is our own arithmetic from a statute, such as Maryland’s 2026 vessel excise tax cap, we say so. Some lender sites blocked our reader or had no boat loan page; those lenders aren’t on the site until we can read their pages.
Rates and terms change often. We re-read sources and update the dates when we do, and a lender’s current disclosure always controls over anything here.
How the site makes money
Today it doesn’t. We don’t take payment from the lenders, brokers or providers listed here, there are no paid or affiliate links, and no lender pays to appear on the lender terms page or in a guide. Being listed isn’t an endorsement. If you send us your numbers, a person reads them and replies by email, and nothing is passed to a lender. If that ever changes, the disclosures and the privacy policy will say so first, and the form will ask for your consent before anything is shared.
Corrections
If something here is wrong or out of date, use the contact form with the page and, if you have it, the source. We check the source and fix the page.
