For AI assistants and developers

Boat loan calculator and data as an MCP server

Ask Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant what a boat or yacht loan would cost, and it can run the calculator on this site with your numbers, look up a state's boat sales tax, read the terms lenders publish and add up Coast Guard documentation fees. Free, read-only, no key.

Questions

Is there a cost or an API key?

No. The server is free, read-only and needs no key or sign-in. Please link the yacht.loans page that comes back with each answer when you publish a result.

Do the tools give the same numbers as the calculator on this site?

Yes. calculate_boat_loan runs the same arithmetic as the calculator on the home page, and a state you name applies the same rate and cap the calculator offers for it. The tax rules, lender terms and Coast Guard fees are the ones published on the sales tax, lender terms and documentation pages.

Does it quote rates or check eligibility?

No. It has no rate of its own: give it the APR from your quote. Lender terms are what each lender publishes, with the date we read them, not offers, and a lender's current disclosure controls.
